Facial Rejuvenation with Micro-Needling and PRP

Over time, our skin, due to elements such as age and sun exposure, can begin to look dull and tired.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) kick-starts the skin regeneration process, a natural way of rejuvenating the skin, and enhancing facial shape and volume.  It is not a face lift – it is more about rejuvenating skin.

By stimulating the production of collagen within the skin, through treatments such as microneedling, the goal of skin rejuvenation therapy is to improve skin texture; tighten skin; soften lines and pores; and improve acne scars. PRP is injected into the skin at target sites, like the corners of the eyes and mouth, to help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue heal and grow new cells. The PRP, injected into specific areas of the skin, act as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, and thus acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin. In this way, PRP softens wrinkles and creates smoother skin texture and tone. This combined therapy involves withdrawing of patient’s own blood, processing it so that only the enriched cells (platelet-rich plasma) remain. The plasma, rich in platelets, is microneedled directly into skin.

At Rockland Med Spa, we incorporate PRP with Microneedling, as opposed to injections alone, this allows us to get deeper penetration of PRP infused into the skin, resulting in dermal thickening and improvement. PRP growth factor can generate collagen release, allowing for a more youthful natural look.

Typically, the entire procedure is 4 sessions, 6 weeks apart; 1 hr./session.

Who Can Get PRP?

Almost anyone who wants a natural and non-invasive solution for aging skin is a candidate for PRP.

PRP with Microneedling is a simple, cost effective and feasible treatment option for skin rejuvenation, with proven results and high overall patient satisfaction.
